Northwest Sole Massage was created by Licensed Massage Therapist Whitney Ossanna. Whitney graduated from Oregon School Of Massage in 2012. It was a few months into massage school that Whitney was introduced to Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy®. After receiving her first Ashiatsu massage in 2011, Whitney knew she had found her ideal massage modality. However it wouldn’t be until 2 years later she would start practicing Ashiatsu. After massage school she interned at Portland State University for Sports Massage and OHSU Cancer Infusion Clinic for Oncology Massage. Even years later Whitney still knew she wanted to focus on Ashiatsu as her main modality to practice.

In 2013 Whitney suffered a sever break, dislocation and reconstructive surgery of her right wrist. 10 pins and a plate later Whitney solely depended on Ashiatsu to continue her massage career during the injury. Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique in which the therapist utilizes gravity and an overhead bar system for support while delivering a deep and broad therapeutic massage. Due to the overhead bar system the entire routine can be done with feet. Whitney was able to continue working as a LMT even while in a wrist brace. She was able to start practicing Ashiatsu 4 weeks post surgery, it would be another 2 months before she could practice Deep Tissue with her wrist again.

Ashiatsu is the perfect modality for active Pacific Northwest folks as well as anyone looking to relax while receiving therapeutic work. As well as specializing in Ashiatsu, Whitney also has training in deep tissue, trigger point, cupping, gua sha and sports massage.

my Mission

I have always wanted to help people heal as a profession. As a natural healer, I  truly enjoys helping each of my clients solve their own physical issues. I have learned that no two sessions are alike and that each client has a unique relationship to their body, which profoundly affects the improvisation aspect of a treatment. I would like to offer my clients a safe haven to receive true therapeutic touch whether for recovery, chronic pain, or relaxation.
